About Pirka Wakka

Pirka Wakka catalogs every new (2026/2027 model-year) RV in North America — 2,685 motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, vans, and truck campers across 50 brands — in one fast, brand-agnostic site. Pair that with Matchmaker, an AI concierge who can answer questions like "we want to take the kids to Alaska, budget $80k, can tow with a half-ton" and route you to the right model.

We are not a dealer. We don't take dealer money to upweight listings. When you find the right RV, our "Buy on {Manufacturer}" link sends you straight to the source.

Who built it

A small, independent team. The site is built on a clean catalog of publicly listed model-year specs, refreshed regularly. The Matchmaker concierge uses the Anthropic Claude API.

How accuracy works

Specs come from each manufacturer's own product pages. Numbers like dry weight, GVWR, tank size, and MSRP are pulled at scrape time. The site reminds you to confirm with the manufacturer before purchase — model-year specs change, and dealers may quote different all-in pricing.

When Matchmaker quotes specific numbers in chat or in your buyer's notebook, she pulls them live from our catalog (never recalled from memory). If a number isn't in our catalog, she says so.

Buyer's notebooks

You can build a shortlist, ask Matchmaker to help you decide, and compile a public "buyer's notebook" — a personal article about your decision that you can share with friends and family. They can vote on which RV you should pick. Each notebook lives at its own URL (e.g. pirkawakka.com/notebook/your-trip-name/...), is server-rendered for SEO, and is indexable.

Privacy

• No accounts, no logins. We don't ask for an email or password to use the catalog, chat with Matchmaker, build a shortlist, or compile a notebook.
• Your shortlist lives in your browser. We store it in localStorage on your device. We can't see it.
• Notebooks you publish are public. The URL is shareable and indexable. Don't put anything in your notebook you wouldn't want indexed.
• Voter cookies. When a friend votes on your notebook, we set a 1-year HttpOnly cookie (pirka_voter) so they can change their pick without multi-voting. The cookie is a random ID — it doesn't carry any personal information.
• Vote tallies. Per-notebook vote counts (e.g. "Coachmen: 3 votes") are stored in our serverless KV store. We see aggregate counts, never who voted for what.
• Chat with Matchmaker. Your messages are sent to the Anthropic Claude API for the duration of the conversation. We don't persistently store the chat log on our side.
• Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics — anonymous pageview + traffic-source data. No cookies, no cross-site tracking.
