Class A Motorhomes
Class A motorhomes are the largest drivable RVs on the market — bus-shaped, built on heavy-duty truck or commercial chassis, and engineered for residential-level living. They range from gas-powered entry-level Class As around $100K to luxury diesel pushers above $1M. Owners trade up to Class A for space, payload, and the ability to tow a separate small vehicle (a "toad") behind them. The trade-off: they're big, expensive to fuel, and many states require a non-commercial Class B license to drive the largest examples.

Frequently asked questions
Do you need a special license to drive a Class A?
Most states allow you to drive a Class A under 26,000 lbs GVWR on a standard car license. Above that weight or 40+ feet long, some states require a non-commercial Class B endorsement. Check your state DMV.
What's the difference between a gas and diesel Class A?
Gas Class As are ~$100K-$250K, simpler to maintain, but slower on grades and louder. Diesel pushers (rear-engine diesels) start around $250K, deliver dramatically better torque and ride quality, last longer mechanically, and are quieter — but cost 2-4× a comparable gas unit.
